Doug Simon is a senior associate at Tactix Real Estate Advisors. Doug concentrates his practice on tenant advocacy in commercial leases, working with commercial tenants and owner/occupants of real estate in many different capacities. Doug’s tenant advocacy work involves all aspects of a commercial leasing transaction, from team assembly and site selection, through complex financial modeling and lease negotiation.
While Doug left the formal practice of law in 2001, it is clear from the engagements on which he has worked that Doug never left his interest in the legal community. Since joining Tactix, Doug has represented more than a dozen regional law firms, including Montgomery McCracken, the firm at which he had previously practiced as a real estate attorney. He has played a critical role in numerous high profile transactions including Fox Rothschild, for which he has conducted multiple transactions throughout the country, and Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, the firm resulting from the merger of two of the city’s most prominent firms. Doug has also used his expertise to help clients in the public interest field. He was a key member of the team that helped Community Legal Services and Philadelphia Legal Assistance, two non-profit firms providing legal assistance to low-income Philadelphians, secure long term leases.
Prior to joining Tactix, Doug was an attorney in the Real Estate Department of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, where he focused his practice on commercial, industrial and retail leasing, construction, and general real estate law. Doug’s legal experience includes the drafting and negotiation of office, industrial and commercial leases, sale/leaseback agreements, like-kind exchanges, and real estate financing and construction agreements.
Doug graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1994 and went on to receive his juris doctor, with Honors, from the George Washington University Law School in 1997. Following his graduation, Doug clerked for the late J. Sydney Hoffman of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. In 1998, Doug joined Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads.
